Joining the SIX The SIX is located in Seattle's Westin Building. If you would like to become a tenant of the Westin Building, the phone number is 206-443-1800. If you would like to colocate in the Westin Building, some of the possibilities are listed below. There are a number of extensions connected to the SIX core fabric. The participants web page indicates how each peer is connected. We recommend that you connect directly to the "SIX Core" if able. Connections to the SIX core switch are either 1 or 10 Gigabit Ethernet via single or multi-mode fiber. Due to a limited number of available ports, all requests for multiple-gigabit or 10 gigabit ports are assessed on a case-by-case basis. Please email info _a_t_ seattleix.net to discuss options. You will need to provide a Cisco-compatible SFP (or XENPAK for 10GE) that matches your connection type. This should be mailed to: Seattle Internet Exchange, Inc. Alternatively, in the case of a 1 Gbps connection, you may make a $100 payment to the SIX via a check to the above or via PayPal (paypal _a_t_ seattleix.net). This is actually preferred. If you decide to give more than $100, you will be recognized on the contributors page for your added donation. The SIX is located on the 19th floor near the building fiber meet-me room (FMMR). You or your colocation provider should contact the building management for a patch-panel allocation to the SIX. A one-time $200 fee is charged by the building folks for this, so they may recoup their costs for the patch panels and fiber runs. Once an allocation from the building management is completed, you or your colocation provider will then perform the cross-connect in the FMMR. Once you are cross-connected, you will need an IP address allocation. To request address space, please complete the following and send it to info _a_t_ seattleix.net: Organization Name: Organization URL (or Peering Policy page if available): ASN: Reverse DNS FQDN: (ex. six.example.net) Tech Name: Tech Email: Tech Phone: NOC Phone: NOC Email: Peering Email: IPv6: (yes or no) Multicast: (yes or no) While waiting for your allocation, please review the config advice here and configure your router and SIX-facing interface accordingly. After you are connected and have your router configured with the IP address, you will probably want to contact the current participants about peering. Don't forget to read and follow the rules!
